Things to see

On the north coast of Puerto Rico, you’ll find Old San Juan, an island connected to the mainland by bridges. This is the oldest settlement in the country, with narrow, winding streets full of colorful buildings, and brick paved roads leading down to the coast. Condado Beach is a long, sandy beach with some areas offering rocks and rough waves, and others with pristine beaches and shallow waters. Not far east you’ll also find Ocean Park, a popular spot with windsurfers and other water sports enthusiasts, with a palm tree lined shore that’s perfect for relaxing. If you’ve forgotten to pack anything, or just need some retail therapy, head to Plaza las Americas, an upscale mall with 3 floors of stores from around the world. Many American favorites are here, including major department stores, and the bright modern building is full of tall palm trees, bringing the outdoors inside.
