Miami Hotels

The rumble of rollerblades, crash of South Beach’s waves, and thump of bouncing Latino rhythms in Little Havana’s nightclubs will provide the soundtrack, as the energy and vitality of one of the world’s most effervescent vacation destinations sweeps you off your feet. Miami’s beauty is overwhelming - from its beaches, to its people, and its weather - which lavishes golden sunshine on the city practically all-year-round. Genuinely offering something for every taste, magical Miami is a true hot-spot of the Sunshine state.

Things to see

Hold on tight, as your airboat’s fan whirs into life, blowing you deep into the swampy surrounds of the Everglades Natural Park. Meet the curious dolphins, who leap and play in the waterways, and look up at the clouds of birds that blanket the sky and fill it with a cacophony of shrieks. Keep your wits about you, while in the 1,500,000 acres of wild wetland - these swamps are the domain of sinister alligators, who hang just below the water. Back on South Beach, the only thing you need to worry about is finding your next mojito, or working up the energy to show off your skills on the beach volleyball court. South Beach is quintessential Miami, so recline besides the glowing turquoise water, or take a stroll along Ocean Drive to people-watch, as joggers thud past, sunglasses-shaded celebrities walk by, and love-struck couples stroll hand-in-hand. Miami is a real melting pot of culture and inspiration, and the Perez Art Museum gives you the chance to explore everything from airy galleries - filled with thick smears of abstract color - to unsettling silent movies, and soaring classical music concerts.

Hotels in Miami

Miami’s magnificent hotels do justice to its beautiful beaches, letting you enjoy top-of-the-range luxury, and be on the beach just 5-minutes after waking. As the sun sets, head up to the exclusive bar terrace, to look down over the city’s grid of sparkling lights and reaching skyscrapers. The in-room facilities are no less lavish, and you’ll bathe in oceanic baths, and enjoy feather-soft, Queen-sized mattresses as you relax. Cheaper hotels in Miami offer WiFi and cable television, as well as hotel bars that rattle to the sounds of cocktail shakers - perfect if you’re warming up for a Miami night out.

Where to stay

Miami moves to a Cuban flavor, so follow your nose to eateries where you can taste delicious pollo con arroz - chicken with rice. You’ll be amazed at how such a simple dish can taste so radically different across the city, with each chef cooking to a generation-perfected family recipe. When it’s time to get the party started, shake your hips on Hoy Como Ayer’s dancefloor. The house band, the Spam All Stars, keep the place jam-packed, and one of their riotous performances is a must-see, if you’re near the Little Havana neighborhood. If you’ve cash to burn, and friends in high places, then South Beach’s elite nightclubs will welcome you to their chandelier-clad rooms, where superstar DJ shows harness mighty sound-systems, pouring thick bass onto the dance-floor.

How to get to Miami

With flights from across the world touching down at Miami International Airport, the Magic City’s soft sands, and cresting waves, are closer than you think. A handy ‘Airport Flyer’ bus ships arrivals into downtown and Miami Beach, while the Metromover is a modest, but free, tram system covering Downtown. In truth, a car is the last place you’ll want to be as Miami’s sun scorches down - so rent a bike, and enjoy leisurely cycle rides along the shore. The Silver Meteor, and Silver Star, Amtrak trains also visit the city, bringing shivering passengers to the sunshine from as far away as New York City.
