Victoria Nightlife - From Brewpubs and Live Bands to Movies and Dancing

Find a place to stay

Whether you're into working your way through a flight of microbrews, tasting the latest handcrafted cocktail, or hitting the dance floor in a raucous club, Victoria's nightlife has you covered. If drinking and dancing aren't your scene, you can take in an outdoor movie, check out an up-and-coming band, or chill to live jazz. Most of the action happens in and around downtown.

Brewpubs and cocktail bars

When you're thirsty for a pint, Victoria has a wide choice of bars. Most have a selection of local craft beers on tap, and some brew their own ales onsite. If you prefer martinis to microbrews, the city's cocktail culture is also booming. Skilled mixologists are creating ever-more inventive concoctions in an increasing number of hip lounges.

Outdoor rock festivals include Rock The Shores in July and the Rifflandia Festival, which takes place in September.

Nightclubs and country music

Come weekends, Victoria's nightclubs are regularly packed to the rafters, in part thanks to a huge university student population. DJs blast out dance hits and Top 40 songs to a 20-something crowd. If pumping tunes aren't your thing, you can don your Stetson and cowboy boots and spin your partner country-style to rocking Western music.
