Find a place to stay

Wherever you decide to stay in Pondicherry (also known as Puducherry), you'll always be within a short distance of the city's many beaches. Promenade Beach

Lined with palm trees, lively Promenade Beach offers far-reaching views across the Bay of Bengal. While wandering along this 1.2 km stretch of sand, you can spot landmarks like The French War Memorial, as well as statues of Gandhi and colonial administrator Joseph François Dupleix. The beach itself is clean and flanked by interesting French architecture, so it makes a great spot for basking in the sun. The city's Botanical Gardens are nearby too, with acres of lush flowers and plants to explore.

French colonial design and minimalist interiors are typical in this part of the city. From beachfront guest houses to luxury hotels, there are options to suit most budgets, with the majority offering sea views.
