Galle Face Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This is an exceptional property and a very grand and historical place to stay in Colombo. We had a wonderful time here and it was always a joy to return to the comfort of the hotel. The facilities are extensive and the location by the Indian Ocean is superb. The extensive public areas and dining options are very good reasons to spend a lot of time here. Thoroughly recommended to all visitors to Colombo who want to experience a unique heritage hotel"
"I just had a 48 hour layover between London and Melbourne so spent 2 days at the hotel by the beach - couldn't fault the stay. One issue with a flooding shower on night 1 but they fixed it immediately and couldn't have been more helpful. Would stay again."
"Był to najlepszy hotel, w którym spaliśmy na Sri Lance. Ma bardzo dobrą relację ceny do jakości, obsługa jest przemiła, pokoje przestronne, a jedzenie jest wybitne, zdecydowanie polecam 👌"
"Everything was absolutely great here EXCEPT they charged me a hefty fee to get into my room a few hours early after a long overnight flight when I just needed to sleep. The room was clean and available, but they didn't let me in without paying extra. I was already paying a lot for a nice room so that annoyed me. And I checked out the night before and of course they didn't give me any money back for leaving 14 hours early.
A premium hotel with nice employees and excellent food. BUT little things like that charge for a room that was mine and empty will linger with me in my memory of their approach to their guests."

Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Western Province is during May, June, and November, when hotel rates are generally lower. To truly appreciate the region’s key landmarks, historical sites, cultural experiences, and natural wonders, it’s recommended to stay for at least 3 days. This budget-friendly approach allows visitors to explore and enjoy the great value for money that Western Province has to offer. Plus, prices may drop during these months, making it an even more appealing option for those travelling on a budget.

Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalized experience and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Consider your location: Staying in the heart of major cities in the Western Province can provide unparalleled convenience, as you're just steps away from local attractions and vibrant cultural experiences. However, this prime location often comes with a higher price tag. In contrast, smaller towns and rural areas are more likely to be affordable, making them an appealing option for budget-conscious travellers. If you're seeking better rates, consider looking for accommodations just outside the city centre, although this may involve additional travel to reach key points of interest. Alternatively, exploring nearby cities that offer a wealth of activities can also present more budget-friendly options without compromising on the overall experience.
