Houston Hotels

Houston is the commercial and cultural heart of Texas, with an impressive skyline full of modern skyscrapers. Time outdoors is also important to locals, with plenty of green spaces and neat parkland downtown, and you’ll often see joggers puffing down the tracks, and local business people relaxing on their breaks. At night the city really comes to life, with buzzing nightclubs and world-class restaurants welcoming visitors.

Things to see

The Galleria Mall has department stores and popular brands all housed under a large atrium roof, giving it a spacious and light feel. There’s also an ice skating rink, dozens of restaurants, and a jogging track that takes you around the atrium. The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is an impressive art deco building which was the first commercial air terminal in Houston. It now serves as exhibition space for aviation artifacts, and well-restored airplanes that you can see up close. Downtown you’ll find Discovery Green with 12 acres of wide, open parkland spaces, a peaceful lake, bandstands, and dog runs, making it a calm oasis in the heart of the city. Reliant Stadium is a must-see for football fans, and as the home of NFL’s Houston Texans there are plenty of exciting games happening throughout the season. This impressive stadium also hosts agricultural shows, thrilling rodeos, wrestling, and epic rock concerts. If you want to keep the kids entertained for the day then Splashtown is a great place for them to run around while you cool down. Dozens of colorful and unique flumes take you through thrilling twist and turns, or you can lie back and relax on an inner tube that floats down the lazy river.
