Valemount Hotels

Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, the village of Valemount is a popular skiing destination with rolling rivers, clear glaciers, and calm lakes. During the winter months, the powdered slopes are full of thrill seekers, here to enjoy the challenging trails and cozy resorts that make up this idyllic village. Once the snow melts, you can enjoy miles of hiking trails, with wildflowers and tall trees sitting comfortably on the mountainside.

Things to see

Instead of the usual ski lift experience, hop on the Robson HeliMagic service and reach the peak of the Rockies from the comfort of a helicopter. You’re then free to hike, snowshoe, ski, or snowboard down the mountain at your own pace, depending on the time of year, and take in miles of mountain views. The red-roofed Valemount Visitor Information Centre is an essential stop, especially if this is your first visit to the area. Their friendly staff will be happy to help you book tours, give specific advice on what there is to do in the area, and tell you more about the history of this naturally beautiful village. The village is less than half an hour south of Mount Robson Provincial Park, with shining glaciers leading down into the turquoise blue lakes. Take a hike along one of the trails and you’ll spot colorful rare birds, moose, elk, and maybe even black bears.

Where to stay

Valemount sits in a valley between dramatic Rocky Mountains, and is also in close proximity to the Cariboo and Monashee mountain ranges. The village itself is small and charming, with a few small, independent restaurants including colorful local diners, and a beautiful mountain view from practically everywhere in the area.
