From crisp winter days spent speeding along the snowmobile trails, to balmy summer afternoons spent playing on a lake – the all season’s landscape is ripe for recreation. Things to see

A world-renowned facility, the Polar Bear Habitat offers a glimpse into the enchanting wintery world of the ‘Lords of the Arctic’. As well as observing resident polar bears in a near-authentic habitat, daring guests have the opportunity to get up, close and personal with them too. The ‘wading pool’ offers a one-of-a-kind experience where visitors can ‘swim’ with the polar bears, albeit behind the safety of 2 inch thick glass. Named after Cochrane’s very own National Hockey League player, the Tim Horton Event Center offers a recreational fix if you don’t fancy heading outdoors. Along with an NHL-sized ice rink, the tip top facility offers a fitness center too. If a steady round of golf suits your pace better, then you’ll find the Lee Golf Club on the north edge of town. Adorned with lush leafy fairways, the course features a stocked up pro shop, and a clubhouse to unwind in afterwards.
