A sleepy Alberta community, Clairmont’s brimming with possibilities for a laid-back vacation. Stroll through provincial parks, take lakeside picnics, or drive over to vibrant Grande Prairie – the Peace River Valley’s largest town – to shop, eat, and wander around its arty downtown. In summer you can swim, hike, and fish, while winter’s a time to wrap up and nestle down with a good book by a warm log fire.

In downtown Grande Prairie, you can splash the cash in independent boutiques before grabbing lunch in a local bistro. If you feel the need for some fresh air Muskoseepi Park’s a buzzing recreational spot in the heart of Grande Prairie. Grab your skates in winter when the pond is frozen, and in summer hop on your bike to whizz along wetland trails, or choose from mini golf, swimming in the outdoor pool or shooting some hoops on the basketball courts. Back in Clairmont, head out to Alberta’s only suspension bridge at Dunvegan Provincial Park, and a day exploring grassy trails, or to nip along Peace River on a power boat.
