"Stranded 1 night in Rio & exhausted. Booked a room at Modernistas Hospedagem e Arte because it's in a traditional touristic neighborhood, as opposed to the beaches. I already know (& love) the beaches but was coming to Rio after 2 wks on Florianópolis beaches. Missed my flight to US at Riogaleão, arriving after midnight. Check in ends at 6pm, but for a small late check-in fee, the reservations agent secured an onsite caretaker, Antonieta, to await me. By the time I picked up my bag, cleared...

"Was very apprehensive about staying in Lapa but after arriving I felt so much better. The hotel is in a perfect spot which made it easy to see Santa Teresa, the Lapa arches and sample local nightlife in Lapa. The staff were all so helpful and made our stay perfect. Would definitely stay again if I come back to Rio."

"I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were very nice and I had the room with the jacuzzi which worked very well and it was very spacious but not so big that you thought you were in a swimming pool. The Wi-Fi worked very well. Some of the stuff is a little dated like the TV but it is a very cozy space. Everything worked well in the room to include the TV and it was surprisingly quiet. There are many restaurants close by as well. It's in a very good spot."
