Zurich Hotels

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland, a sprawling expanse of glitzy modern architecture and centuries-old historic sights. The city is also a thriving hub of arts and culture, and is flush with gorgeous art galleries and stately museums. Shoppers will find plenty to enjoy here too, as Zurich’s streets are lined with ritzy boutiques. If the urban energy ever gets too much, take a tranquil walk in one of Zurich’s many green public parks and gardens.

Things to see

Start your Zurich day at The Kunsthaus Zurich, the city’s key museum of modern arts. Based in a looming, Neo-Grec stone building, the museum showcases inspiring works from the likes of Manet, Turner, and Munch. After, head over to the Swiss National Museum, and learn about Switzerland’s riveting history and culture. The museum’s displays span from ancient history up to the present day - highlights include the shiny suits of old-world armor and the rich collection of gothic art. As the afternoon rolls around, appreciate some of the city’s stellar architecture. Stop by the Grossmunster, an enormous Romanesque-style church perched by the shimmering Limmat River. Tour its 15th century crypts, gaze at the contemporary stained glass, and climb one of the 2 iconic towers. If you’re traveling with kids, cap off the day at the Zurich Zoo, and say hello to cute leopard cubs and cuddly panda bears.
