this is a 200 tear old listed building, but has been very thoughtfully designed ,to have everything one needs ,without losing the character of the building , as for dining the menu is and everything we tried on our limited stay was delicious , this is where i would stay if I ever came to Newark again .

A brilliant place to break a long journey or stay
This is an old building with lots of nic-nacs so don't expect sterile cleaning conditions that said it puts many of the big hotel chains to shame.
The welcome on arrival was detailed and excellent, the room very comfortable and despite being on the front traffic noise was almost none existent. The breakfast menu runs to four pages and food quality was first class.
Would we stay again 100% yes.

Stay was ok but didn't realise there is a £5 parking charge if we use hotel.com this wasn't made clear. We could have parked for nothing nearby.

Top - second floor - but at least it was a large room with a bath and shower-over-bath. Town-centre location so good for some. No issues for us - not noisy at all.
Not easy to find - has own car park but small entrance between buildings. The Thai next door was very good, as was breakfast in the hotel. Excellent service.

A very professional, friendly and immaculately clean Family run business with a superb menu of fresh handmade pies and other local produce, the breakfast menu being one of the best I've been offered at accommodation in this price point.
Best booked direct though.
Will definitely return.

We were looking for a place to put down our heads for a night, after an wedding. Our check in should only have been in the afternoon, but we needed a place to change into our gladrags for the morning part of the occasion and Carol, very kindly got our room ready early in the morning.
Such personal care and seevice has to be highly commended, would definitely recoomend this place and if ever in the area will be looking to stay here.
