Stayed at Villa del Palmar for a week over a New Year holiday. The property itself is great, with three pools, a swimmable beach, a well-equipped gym, and nice rooms. The staff is nice and friendly too. We also opted for an all-inclusive package, and while it is not mandatory, I would recommend it if you wish to eat on the premises as the meals are relatively expensive. Otherwise there are plenty of options in town. A few minor things that could be better: 1. Some leak in the bathroom, probably from a toilet valve. Since there is a tile floor it is quite slippery 2. Very aggressive push for a timeshare at their Flamingo property in Nuevo Vallarta. You don't have to do it but it's impossible to escape! 3. Food and service at their Asian restaurant. Maybe it was a bad day but it took forever to get in, then a long wait for food, then the food itself was mediocre. On the other hand, the other three restaurants on the premises are great. 4. Limited choices for non-motorized sports at the beach. Just a couple of kayaks and you have to reserve them (no mention of it anywhere) plus a volleyball court.

Room was very dirty. I asked them could they please at least mop the floor. Nope! Toilet was leaking all over the bathroom floor. Not many activities going on on the resort. Very surprised since it was New year's. They had a New Year's day party at the resort, but had to pay an extra $200 to attend. Had to leave the resort to find some fun. I seen a large rodent/animal crawl out the pool. Also, my earbuds came up missing out of our room. This is the worst resort I've ever experienced.

We liked the look and appeal of the resort. The all inclsuive was amazing! However, the way the resort changes what restaurants are open and are NOT open is OUT OF CONTROL. Horrible communciation about where to eat and what times or days you can eat there! The resort is NOT good at communicating with their guests about where to eat, activities, and changes with the dining each day!
