We got our booking confirmed directly in hotels.com website 1 month before our travel. But still the hotel person called and asked for making advance payment of Rs 30,000, since he said he had received reservation requests from his side for some other guests. I said it should not affect me since I made the reservation a month back and got confirmation as well. But he insisted and so I made the payment of Rs 30,000. But eventually when I went to the hotel, I was astonished to learn that I did not have rooms reserved and instead they asked me to go to another hotel nearby, which they claimed to be their sister concern (2 kms away). I checked the online fare for that hotel and found that it was much cheaper than coconut villa. So I asked for revising the fare which they promised. But while checking out after the stay, it was another shock - price mentioned was higher than the fare of coconut villa itself. What kind of business ethics they have? I had to endure a long discussion to finally agree on the revised price. Overall it left a bad taste and spoiled the mood, which you do not want when you go for a vacation for relaxing.
