About this cabin

Owner Managed - Jessica & Kevin are so proud of our 80 5 star reviews ! We happily welcome you to come enjoy the mountains by staying at Moonshine Manor. Our beautiful, bright and spacious log cabin boasts all the amenities and comforts of home! Relax sipping a glass of local wine on the 40 foot porch in the custom hand made chairs or sit inside and read beneath the authentic lofty pine ceilings. Enjoy the cabin-esque quilts and our rustic decor inside and out. Brand new stainmaster carpeting installed January 2022. There is plenty of room for both kids and 'furry' children or enjoy a private retreat in the woods for two. We have championship golf down the block and restaurants within a mile, as well as the fabulous downtown Chimney Rock available with a stake park, brewery, several wineries and tons of kids activities and shops. The Lake Lure beach and Marina open Memorial Day thru Labor Day to tempt you with their lake activities and boat, SUP, kayak rentals too! Apple picking / Pumpkins patches start Sept thru Nov nearby, so don't miss the fall fun and beautiful foliage!

** NOTE: When you reserve, PLEASE make sure to drop us a note about your stay so we can make sure the Moonshine Manor is the right place for you, your pets and your guests ! **

The Cabin details:

*This lovely log cabin boasts beautiful, pure pine walls with a huge cathedral ceiling & full windows to let in the light. New 2022 wall to wall stain master carpeting.

*Two porches stretch the entire front 40 feet (open) and back 30 feet (covered) to give you plenty of outdoor space - with a grill ! Enjoy cocktails on the porch or morning coffee and see the deer. We've recently added amazing local handcrafted chairs to the porch.

*The cabin great room has a large kitchen, dining table, breakfast bar, reading corner and seating area - fully equipped with everything you might need for a fun vacation stay. (Note: Media room/TV is in closed loft above, not in the great room)

*The owners love to cook, so the cabinets are full. We remember the little things like coffee filters (a regular coffee maker and a Keurig too) and spices for cooking ! Who wants to pack Saran Wrap in their luggage.

* Books, games, puzzles, 150+ DVD collection for rainy days!

*Custom cornhole boards and bags- good fun for the whole family.

*Main level features 2 bedrooms (each with a rustic quilted queen bed), two fully stocked baths and a washer /dryer (yes we provide detergent!) for your convenience and use.

*Upstairs the giant loft includes another sleeping area (2 twin beds) and a media center, Direct TV, reclining couches & chairs and games. (great space to put the kids for the weekend!) NOTE: This is our TV room to keep your great room downstairs great, without the noise.

*Paved Driveway - no need for 4x4 on Bill's Mountain.

Fire Pit - roast those marshmallows on cool evenings! (fire wood can be purchased at the nearby Ingles for $10.)

The Nearby Area:

*Tryon International Equestrian Center is 17 miles away - home of the FEI World Equestrian Games and shopping, restaurants and bars. Saturday night competitions are open to the public.

*Ingles Supermarket is 6 miles from the cabin, there is a convenient redbox

(DVD rentals) located inside.
*Championship golf - Apple Valley and Rumbling Bald - at the end of the street! Great winter/spring weekend pricing available.

*Apple picking, horse riding / stables ziplining and more ! We will send you our recommendation list.

This property is great for an extended family trip (bring the grandparents along) or a girls mountain weekend getaway.

Couples will enjoy the privacy and space of the entire house and all of the nearby amenities.

Well behaved pets are welcome to join you for a little snooze on the porch, we provide water & food bowls for our furry families. (one time pet cleaning fee $49)

Well behaved kids are welcome too ! :) Plenty of room for you to bring a pack-n-play or playpen if necessary.

The owners frequent the cabin, so you should find everything you would need for a lovely stay.

The cabin is non-smoking anywhere on the premises (Smokey the Bear lives in Lake Lure.)

Hair dryer, kitchen pots, pans, dishes, towels and linens, cable TV (2), WiFi (but remember, its the mountains and internet speeds as well as mobile phone service can be sketchy at times, here and everywhere you will go in the area)

The owners suggest packing specialty soaps/lotions/bug spray, as well as towels, if you will frequent Lake Lure beach.

Note About Rumbling Bald: We are often asked if we have full access to all resort amenities. We do not have member use of the club amenities- BUT that just means we cannot use the swimming pools (open Memorial Day thru Labor Day) or the gym. The 4 restaurants ( the sports bar and outside patios) are open to the public, the spa is open and the golf is open to the public as well. We often dine at Legends at the Lake and we play golf, as we are only down the block from the 8th hole at Apple Valley golf course.

If you are looking to swim, lake lure has a lovely public beach ( I think it’s $6) that is closer to chimney rock, which we consider our ‘downtown.’ For children, there are huge water slides. Use of kayak's and canoe's is included in the price. There is also a terrific marina there where you can take short lake cruises, rent kayaks & SUP's or rent a pontoon.

    Lake Lure Getaway

The property was as advertised (or better!) and the owners were super responsive and made the stay easy and enjoyable. The house is beautiful, clean, and the perfect jumping off point for a family vacation. We made day trips to Chimney Rock, Asheville, Hendersonville, Catawba falls (beautiful and fun hike) and Black Mountain, and this was the perfect home base for my family’s vacation. Thank you for sharing your part of Lake Lure with us, we’ll definitely be back!

    Christmas at Moonshine Manor

Excellent mountain property and location. We were pleasantly surprised to find a decorated Christmas tree and other Christmas decor to make it seem like Christmas away from home. Unfortunately, nearby Lake Lure was almost dry as they had lowered the lake for owners to perform maintenance on their docks, so the advertised beauty of the lake was not there to see. But, the house is conveniently located to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock and has multiple hiking options nearby which we took advantage of. We had incredibly warm weather for this time of year so sitting on the front porch was really enjoyable, as was utilizing the fire pit in the cool evenings. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Furnishings in the home were above average of any vacation rental I have ever stayed in. Highly recommend this home.

    Excellent!

Wonderful stay, beautiful property close enough to everything. Owner made everything super easy! Things to note: WiFi is not strong enough for streaming but there is DISH and plenty of DVD’s. Also the master bed is FIRM. Took us a day or two to get used to it as we are used to medium mattress. First night was rough and we woke in pain, after that we were good.

    Perfect...and so clean

This was a last minute trip for us and we were so lucky to stumble upon Moonshine Manor. It was the cleanest vacation rental we have ever rented. Everything you need is there. If you forgot something it is probably provided so do not worry. Perfect location for Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and a golf course is across the street. Everything has been well thought out with this place. You will not be disappointed.
