Lovely Old Property. the art was amazing. They really need more electrical outlets in the room. There wasn't anywhere to recharge phones etc. without crawling on the floor. If you wanted to use a curling iron there wasn't an outlet near a mirror. If you need a sleep apnea machine forget it nowhere to plug it in.

A beautifully designed and appointed property, well-situated on the coast in Nice.

Location and ambiance of the public spaces is awesome, the rooms not so. Instant coffee?? a bottle of water when you arrive but never again, lack of charging plug ins - had to unplug lights, baseboards, doors trim etc showing their age, not even Kleenex in the bathroom . corded hair dryer in the bathroom but no place to plug in.

We chose the Negresco based on let’s history and reputation. We were suitably impressed by the historical aspect of the hotel, and by the excellent service both at arrival and at departure. We were far less impressed by the room, as it lacked very basic modern tools. Like enough electrical outlets to charge phones and tablets. We had to disconnect the electric extension cord used for the kettle ( installed perilously on top of the tv display) to be able to reach comfortably for our chargers. No coffee machine, such as a Nespresso, but instant only. But then I could not plug the kettle as it’s extension cord was used for the chargers... The bathroom was interesting, no shower, a bathtub with a shower head , no curtains so water went everywhere. The sink was partially blocked, not nice when it black, and your toothpaste is white. All in all, we went for the history, we enjoyed Nice from this great location on Promenade des Anglais. Was it worth the price? Maybe not.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights in early September 2018. The hotel itself presents a truly unique experience due to its location, gorgeous interiors and art pieces accumulated by the owners over six decades. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the only drawback was with the training, or lack of it, of some of the waiters who spoke no language other than French and seemed to be unable to take a simple request for fried eggs or a coffee. Other than that, it was a great experience, which we highly recommended.

It was too expensive for what it is. If you want to go to the beach, don't go to Bella Nissa, the one the hotel recommends. Go to Blue beach, a little to the left once you leave the hotel.
