8/10 Very good

Simple stay for a night
This was a pretty comfy hotel in a good location. Very convenient for getting off the tram from the airport. Lovely castle views. We stayed one night, and I that worked out perfectly. It's just a bit run down and felt a little quiet/empty for it being a busy summer holiday. Some street noise if you stay on a lower level.

2/10 Poor

Dirty hotel
Very run down and dirty from last time we stayed there . Couldn’t stay at the hotel, they had shown us 2 rooms and both were discussing…. Wallpaper hanging of the ceiling chunks of wood broken off the furnishings, dirty dressing table with nail clippings and hair on it hairs over the sheets , very lazy cleaners just standing around on there mobile phones while supposedly should have been working .

Want to come back again!
The hotel was definitely one that I'm thinking of coming back to the next time I visit Edinburgh! Great location near to train station and tourist attractions, great cleanliness, great breakfast (buffet), great tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom, comfy bed.

Bad Hotel
Very bad. Wi-if was not working and was very poor. Parking was not on site and as away in a mall 9 minutes walk.

Disappointed
Overpriced. Room needed updated. Couldn't get a snack at bar & Resturaunt had a delay & therefore we were not able to get an evening meal either. No info on hotel services, had to phone reception & ask about breakfast times etc.

Tired old room
Room was comfortable however, it was very tired including the bathroom. Although the room had been cleaned, the carpet was grubby in places, as was the sofa in the room, the seat cushions of which were also grubby and flattened and so we did not sit on them. Cleaners made the bed everyday but did not replenish the water/tea/coffee/milk. Towels were clean but were so old that they had holes in them. Best bit about the room was the fantastic view it had and I guess that view and the hotel's location is the reason why it was so expensive because the room certainly wasn't worth it. Overall, it was somewhere central to stay and we had a great time in Edinburgh.
