Historic! Needs a little TLC in some areas
The suites are spacious and original, beautiful old historic hotel. The bathroom needed some love and repair to the ceiling and the tap was leaking. I reported it and I’m sure it was dealt with. I would definitely stay there again though. Great location and very comfortable bed.

Unhappy with service!
We arrived at hotel after disembarking from cruise, it was around 10 a.m. Desk clerk was extremely annoyed with us and told us we could leave our luggage but clearly was unhappy! We were told to come back between 1 & 1:30, which we did, room still not ready! I went back to front desk at 2:30 as different clerk was on and was told of course room was ready.

Personal favorite!
My sisters & I stayed in San Diego for 5 nights. Very happy we chose this hotel as we couldn't have asked for a better location. We stayed in one of the Grand suites. Great size & had every amenity that we wanted. It's outdated but it's an old elegant hotel. The front desk staff were absolutely great. It was very quiet being just 1 block off of Market Street. I actually loved it & would definately recommend this hotel. I will be back!
