Good service, parking was difficult.
There was a problem with our room and they upgraded us to a suite. Great service and the new room was great. Parking near the hotel was difficult. We were told to go across the street to the parking garage but the building around the parking garage was closed due to covid, so there was no easy pedestrian path into or out of the garage.

Our 14th floor sauna was a tough way to start
It started out great. The 2 ladies working at the desk on Thursday evening, July 30 were helpful and friendly. They got us checked in and helped with the very difficult luggage elevator. When we arrived in the room, it was like a sauna. VERY hot. We turned the air on, but in the 14-15 hours we were in the room, it never quite cooled off. And, the mattresses were hot all the way through. I saw this on a different review - so, they know they should pre-cool rooms for at least 10-12 hours in the summer! The next morning, the two ladies working the front desk on Thursday, July 31 were not helpful whatsoever. My wife couldn't work the luggage elevator and they did nothing whatsoever to help. So, my wife and son unloaded the luggage down the stairs by themselves. Meanwhile - the parking lot across the street (Northstar, I think) was practically impossible for me to enter to get back to my car. The elevators are closed and I walked around a creepily empty building until I just gave up and walked up the car entrance ramp. It started so well - but, we need a cool room in the summer, helpful front desk clerks and some decent directions to get my car after parking there at your recommendation.

A DISASTER!!!!!
It was awful. We used to go to The Grand for special events and this time it was AWFUL! WE UNDERSTAND COVID but never saw anyone cleaning anything....the front desk allowed several people to check in without masks, allowed several to get on the elevator at once. No AC in the lobby, just an embarrassment!!! Oh, don't forget the construction. We went to a Residence Inn that had MUCH better service and address to health safety. We had to constantly call for coffee, clean trash.....A DISASTER! Shame on The Grand!!!
