4/10 Fair

Staying here was a mistake
The good: the ceiling in the lobby is beautiful, and my room was clean and functional. The not good: While the room was clean, the room and hotel are run down. (It seemed like the housekeeping staff is doing their best, but management isn't investing in maintenance and updates.) The room was sparsely furnished with cheap office-style furniture. I was there for a conference, and the food at breakfast and lunch wasn't great. The hotel does things like charge $35 for early check in starting at 1 pm; other hotels in the class this one aspires to be in let guests check in early free of charge if their room is ready. I didn't need early check in, but the policy is representative of the level of customer service (and penny pinching) to expect. My biggest issue was at check in. I chose this hotel in part of the free parking that Hotels.com said was a perk I would get as a gold member. When I asked about it when I checked in, I was flatly informed that the hotel doesn't offer free parking. When I said I was sure I'd seen it when booking my reservation, the person at the front desk interrupted and said she'd give me the free parking—but she was extremely rude about it. I then discovered that the garage was three blocks away; no one at the hotel offered help with luggage. I parked, then fell and twisted my ankle on the way back to the hotel. Still no offer to help with my luggage when I limped back into the lobby. Next time, I'll stay elsewhere and pay for parking.

Hotel was lovely and close enough to the convention center. We were disappointed that both the bar and roof deck were not available. Want to check them out sometime in the future if possible.

Great for Leisure not Business
Lovely hotel with excellent customer service. However, I was here on business and could not work effectively because of the inconsistency and poor connection of the wifi

Too Noisy :-(
The hotel was a shabbier version of its neighbor, the Hotel Monaco. Everything was more or less run down. But our main issue was that the noise level, both inside and outside the hotel, made it difficult for our family with two small children to sleep. You could easily hear guests in the hall way and in their rooms at all hours of the night, and despite being on the 14th floor, the street traffic sounded like it was inside our room. We had to check to see if the windows were shut (they were) because the noise was so bad.
