Big disappointment
This hotel was really disappointing. First, we checked into a room that was so dirty. There was food on the floor and the toilet was still dirty from the last guys. Ew! When we complained they quickly moved us to a new room and offered us a free breakfast (the one good thing they did). However, the new room was clearly older and smaller. It also smelled musty. But at that point we weren't going to complain again. The new room didn't even have bottled water like the first, nicer room did. Another surprise was that when checking out, we received a bill for $27 USD. This is for "mandatory" charges from dc (I had just left another hotel through work with no such charges). They claimed this was for water and wifi. Well, we received no water and the wifi is terribly slow and only works on one device unless you pay another $10 per day! This hotel claims to have wifi and all these amenities, but you're actually paying additional fees for every single thing. The staff couldn't even properly explain what that additional fee was for. Really disappointing stay overall. You could get more for your money at a true 4 star boutique hotel elsewhere in the city.

nice location but poor late check in service
We check in late around 2am because of flight delay. Only one gentleman at the front desk. My son try to told him he was visit Washington to celebrate his birthday but he just look at the screen and said you need two bed right? This is a nice decor hotel and great location. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. House keeping was noisy and talking at the hallways and woke up us every morning. We stayed for four nights. Doorman is polite and friendly

Very Good 8.0
The extra charges, taxes, fees, and parking was 50 % over the room price which seems excessive to me

Disappointing, poor customer service
We were promised early check-in. We confirmed with a concierge the night before at 6pm, and she promised that we could check-in at 1pm. When we arrived the hotel staff was extremely rude in handling that our room was not available. Following, the staff put us in the wrong room that did not include a dining room table. When I informed them of the error, they told me that they did not have any rooms with that layout. After pulling up their website and showing them that the layout did in fact exist and is what I paid for, they begrudgingly moved us into our correct room. I was very disappointed with this hotel and will not be coming back or referring others.

Nice hotel, not a resort so why the resort fee?
I always stay at the Melrose Georgetown when traveling to DC for business or pleasure. Recently stayed for three nights. For the first time, I was charged a so-called "destination fee" of $35/night when I checked out. Yes, it is in fine print, but this was a surprise and new. Kind of outrageous to charge a resort type fee when this in just a hotel with a small gym and no other special services. As a consumer and a customer using Hotels.com regularly, this should be disclosed. Unfortunately, this fee makes the Melrose less competitive in pricing

Too many hidden fees such as parking, gym. Service was awful. I’ll make sure to post it everywhere.
