Right next to the Rhine river; one of the best hotel in Mainz. With comfortable room and nice bathroom! Very close to the Mainz shopping area and places to eat too

We chose this hotel because of the location. We expected more from a Hilton hotel. The hotel was quite dated compared to all the other accommodation that we had stayed at on our holiday. The hotel overcharged for its parking. €26 a day is excessive. Plus it was the only accommodation that we had stayed in over a 3 week period that charges for Wifi. I was not impressed.

Nice location on the Rhein River. Easy walk into shops, restaurants and sights in Mainz. Some river cruises start literally outside the door. Very clean, great service and a good restaurant. It is also very quiet which is good for jet-lagged travellers.

Checkin staff looked stressed from the start. Struggling to find our booking made through hotels.com. We were only staying for 2 nights so rejected any maid service upon checkin. The room had been cleaned and the door sealed prior to our arrival. Most people (except a few Americans) were wearing masks. Weinstube was great (people watching whilst enjoying the breeze of the river when it's 36C) for dinner on the first night and drinks on the second night. Fabulous waiting staff. Especially the man who asked if he could share my verbal feedback in his next team meeting. I'm simply endorsing my verbal comments to him online. You know who are. Shocking checkout though on the Sunday morning. 2 busy stressed receptionists and I counted 6 socially distanced parties in front of me. We had to leave so I threw our cards in the box. In summary: Reception - bad. Room - What I expected. Weinstube - Brilliant. Good people.

Having been to Wiesbaden 6km away and because of a flight delay went to the Hilton in Mainz. Not the most wonderful German city. The old town was very nice the rest of the city was not the best. The hotel was well located and inside had obviously been recently renovated. The room was comfortable although the bed was VERY firm other than that it was ideal for one night only
