The room we got was quite spacious. The carpet looked a bit dated, but everything was clean, and the beds were comfortable. We got in during a heat wave, and they have no A/C, but our room facing the train station was on the cooler side of the building so it was bearable. However, we can hear the train whistles. We were able to sleep through it but if you are not a heavy sleeper, I would have second thoughts about staying here. The kitchen was equipped with the basics, and had a dishwasher. It was very adequate for the few days we stayed. The hotel had coin operated laundry which was super helpful. It was in a convenient location; we walked to the mall, the anchorage museum and to the center for performing arts. There is also a great ice cream place, Wild Scoops close by!

Great location to wander a bit, find places to eat and be close to the train station...as in just a couple of minutes to walk. Staff was friendly and helpful. Property is older but kept very clean. Was great to have a sitting room and kitchenette which would be great for longer stays. Does have an elevator. Little noisy at night with those who are up later and walking past, as well as that rail yard close by, but not unbearably so, just a mild inconvenience.

Bad Chemical Smell in Our Room

The room we were booked in had a bad chemical smell. It made me nauseous. We were given another room, which was not as bad, but still had a musty smell. We were booked for 3 nights, including what was supposed to be one free redeemed night, but we left after just there one night. We would not recommend this hotel at all to anyone.

Very happy with our one-night stay. Property located in a nice, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several restaurants around 3rd St. Very quiet in the room as well. Our room was a suite, with separate bedroom, bathroom, large and spacious living area and kitchenette. They have their own off-street free parking area. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

    Location perfect for train depot

The property was located exactly where we wanted and the apartment was perfect except a bit hot since no air conditioning. We were gladfor the fan provided.

    A Grand Experience

A wonderful hotel in Anchorage. The rooms are large (essentially a small apartment) and the beds are comfortable. It did tend to get a bit warm (no apparent a/c), however, the windows actually open so fresh air was available. Would definitely stay again.

    Grand hotel!

This is a great hotel. The bedroom is separate from the rest of the suite. It's almost a small apartment. Having the opportunity to do a little cooking on site saved us some money. The ice maker was a bonus too. And the hotel is located close to the downtown attractions.

    Great location and large suites

Nice large suite (w/ kitchen and separate bedroom), overlooking railroad station. Great location! Free parking just down the block. Only things we didn't like were: 1) entry area is small and is a split level with 5 stairs down to lobby. Inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage as we did. They did have luggage carts and an elevator, so once we were in room, it was ok. Just the coming and going. 2) our room had a view, but facing the railroad it was also noisy. Trains seem to let off toots at random times, some loud and some not. General train noise was not bothersome...just when the blasts got loud. Not typically after midnight, we noticed. Overall, a great stay.
