    So so
We were in a renovated room. It was clean but it felt old with some facelift. There is a small fridge which is convenient. No water kettle but you can ask for one. The windows were very dirty - renovations or not, this is not acceptable. The toilet clogged twice, the stuff was quick to respond. The front staff is nice altogether. Coffee shop is fine, it opens at 6am and sells some food. Dominos pizza is one block away at Hyatt, they have pickup specials check online. The part of the town with restaurants is about 10 min walk. The beach next to the hotel is rocky in the water, you want to walk about 10 min to the central part.

The hotel was under construction. We had to move from our original room because there was scaffolding outside the window then we were moved to a second room where the blinds did not have any cords and then upon check out we had to pay resort fee which we felt was not fair

Great location but lots of renovations
We chose this hotel because we had one night in Honolulu before flying to Hilo. The hotel was under renovations so there was no pool, no restaurant, not even coffee in the lobby because this too was having maintenance. The staff were VERY kind. The beach towels were very handy and location was amazing. We headed right to the beach in the morning for a few hours. The hotel gave us a coupon for breakfast next door at Lulu’s which was yummy. Room was clean. Toiletries were coconut yumminess: Hawaiian Tropics. I am sure it will be beautiful once Reno’s are completed.

    Renovation nightmare!
Athe renovations meant that none of the facilities were available. No restaurant no room service, no pool etc. The lobby is open air with plywood walls . Staff apologetic for inconvenience and provide discount voucher for local restaurant one long block away. This restaurant was an upstairs sports bar with no elevator or escalator. Food was third rate . I only went once during my three day stay. A very unsatisfactory experience. The balcony was wired shut and construction crew outside my room were noisy and intrusive.

The hotel was fine even though I didn't know it was under construction. It was comfortable enough. It is well located. Ask questions, as they don't tell you things when you check in and there is no information in the room.
