Great , friendly stay.

The service was exceptional, from the genuine welcome and chat when checking in, through to the staff in restaurant in the evening, and excellent team at breakfast. The rooms and decor is stunning and was a real pleasure to stay. Only issue is the small lifts , and if your on a cruise departing day where everyone is fully loaded with cases is can take 20minutes or more to get your turn in the lift. Other than that this must be the most friendly hotel in Southampton. Special thanks to Simmi for grabbing something we left in fridge once we checked out.

Plus. Reception Staff very helpful. Recently modernized. Easy walking distance to old city sites and cruise terminal. Celebrity. Very good breakfasts Minuses. Flush in room toilet lacks power. Lifts too small , few and long waits during check out. Reception fine at checkout. No housekeeping one day as staff didn't show but provided soft, fresh towels. All in all, we would come back.

We checked in yesterday, check in was great, room is great and view of the cruise ship as requested which is a bonus. Went to the bar in the evening, my husbands card was declined 4 times with no reason, tried my card again same thing happened, it was a issue with the card machine, no apology was just laughed off even when husband said that did no good for my heart condition, this then happened to others whilst we were having our drinks.

Arrived to find hotel reception newly opened after recent renovation. Very friendly staff but perhaps getting up to speed. Room had pleasant view towards QE 2 terminal. Evening food and breakfast were both excellent.

I booked into this hotel after travelling over 260miles for an overnight stay, prior to going on my first cruise. Hotel was going through a renovation which I was a bit shocked to see, as it was a complete mess outside, to which the inside was ok. Check in was fine, female on reception was a little abrupt, I was asked if I had a car, my reply was “YES”, then I had to pay the onsite charge of £15. Just remember to ask if you have to enter your registration, if you don’t you’ll end up with a £100 fine. Anyway, floor 3, small compact and in all fairness was good, new carpets and clean rooms. Pleasant sleep, room was a little stuffy, alarm set for 0800hrs, to be awoken by the sounds of drills going along with the reversing sounds of wagons outside, for a split second it seemed like I was on holiday in a Spanish resort. Showered and down for breakfast, which was ok, no issues at all. Check out was painless, suitcase on backseat and off to cruise terminal. Park up and get out, I go around to the rear and see damage to the rear offside bumper. It appears that some phallus had decided to collide into my car and cause damage. Photographs taken and I walked back to the hotel. I spoke to the same man who checked me out, he couldn’t grasp as to where I’d parked the car, his whole attitude stunk. It’s really suprised me how the attitude from “thank you for your stay”, to can’t be arsed and report it to the police and if they come we will help.

Renovation Making Great Stay

The hotel is under a massive renovation. I stayed in one of the renovated rooms. It was quite nice. However, the bathroom had a soaking tub/shower. The sides of the tub were quite high for a senior with arthritic knees. The room was clean and well-appointed. The dining room service was very good. The desk staff were excellent.

Don’t do it.

The place is a dump. It’s a classic bait and switch. The pictures on their web site are nothing like the hotel. The place is completely under renovation. Our cab driver went around the block 3 times before we found the entrance. The restaurant was terrible.

False fire alarm at 6am!

Got woken up by a FALSE fire alarm at 6am and the staff claimed it was due to the steam from someone taking shower....unacceptable, as everyone takes shower there, isn't it? Would the alarm be expected to be triggered by steam from shower? Did not receive any compensation for the lost sleep (sleep was so precious after a long haul flight). Would recommend agains this hotel unless they sincerely apologize and comoensate for our loss.
