Just being truthful!
I have been traveling through Vallarta for 25 years and have stayed at the Krystal many times before years ago. Now they have a mini pool for adults and unless you get up at 6:00 am you will never get a chair, I sat on the poolside until a guy who was an all inclusive guest and so drunk broke out with a nosebleed as he went in and then puked in the water so that pretty much stopped my desire to be in the mini pool, the food offerings were regular at best, waiters were the best part, my room had a big cracked tile at the entrance way to the bathroom and almost cut open my foot which I reported to the administration to no avail. No repair happened. The Krystal does not compare to the competition between the port down to the Malecón, makes me sad as it was a great resort before! I have been in every hotel between the port and the malecón and many multiple times over the 25 years so I feel I can place judgement!

Arrival approx 2pm Dec 28/2019 - check in easy and fast Reserved 1 king room & 1 (2) double room and to be side by side as we have an infant with us and garden view - got 2 king rooms on opposite sides of the floor - awkward as the family members travelling with us are not a couple - said they had nothing available yet as we were upstairs noticed 2 rooms cleaned and vacant that both had double beds . Also garden view was the parking lot Stayed in the new tower - Room was spacious and clean good beds nice bathroom , small fridge CON - no hair dryer (asked 3 times for one ) - outdoor patio chairs terrible to sit on - 2 towels for 3 of us - no tea or coffee items and maker (asked said they had none ) - elevators are terribly slow sometimes a 10-15min wait in a line to go up DO NOT get ALL - INCLUSIVE , we heard guests non stop say the food was AWFUL. There are 3 pubs , starbucks , a pizza place and a Mexican place with 5-10min walk all decent and inexpensive. Irish pub was the best wings next. head towards PV you will hit a outdoor mall area that has also small food kiosks .left of the hotel ( towards airport ) grocery store and a few more shops and eats 10-15m walk and just a bit further is another mall (indoor ) and Walmart . POOL has NO umbrellas TERRIBLE Ihave a little one so wanted to head down before everyone was awake EVERY single chair at 7:08AM was taking & EVERY beach chair has umbrellas . Honestly don’t waste your money.

Apathetic staff at check in and in lobby. Lunch at the beach restaurant was pretty bad. Dinner food was equally bad. Staff were quick to offer drinks. Breakfast food was better with omelette/eggs/ quesadilla station but long line ups. Staff in the restaurants seemed available and willing to help. 2 small bottles of water in room if you wanted more you had to pay. Seems ridiculous in an all inclusive but that’s the policy. Beachfront but not a great beach. It’s was closed because of windy weather. Dirty water also so not even pleasant to look at. Also the specialty restaurants were fully booked when we tried to get a reservation.

Avoid This Resort.
Avoid this hotel! We started our Mexican vacation at Krystal and were informed that the 2 double beds that we had booked for our family could not be supplied. We had a choice between 1 king (no cots) or bunk beds and a pull out couch. We took the bunk beds so that we could have our own beds, the room had sheets but no blankets, and was dirty (hair, etc). Walls are paper thin so when drunk neighbours came back at 4 am from partying we got to listen to every word, and more. Included Breakfast was below average. The only good part about this hotel is the beach. If someone offered me a free stay at this hotel I would not take it.

Bad Experience
It got off to a bad start when they did not have the room type I reserved when we arrived. It took me another 4 days to get another chair so we could both sit on the balcony. The worst part of the experience is that they accepted no cash. So if you wanted a coffee or a beer you had to pay for it with a credit card!! You can forget about getting near the pool or getting a chair at the beach bar. All of the pool loungers have towels and other personal stuff on them by 7:00 AM by the same people everyday. The beach bar only has about 7 table and 28 chairs so it is almost impossible to get a chair as everybody that can't get near the pool sits there all day. The only food available is from the buffet which is expensive and of very poor quality. No where can you just grab a burger or sandwich. In fact, there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity. And as there is not a bar and no entertainment the place shuts down by 9:00 every evening. Probably so they don't have to give the all inclusive patrons free drinks all night. Overall not a pleasant experience. I would not stay there again.

Very Good 8.0
Good place/couple of nights/connect with friends
The walls are not sounds-proof so if you have noisy neighbors who like the tv loud it’s a bit annoying. The casing on the bottom of our door screeched horribly whe it was opened so it was impossible for the early riser to sneak out in the morning withour waking up the still sleeping partner. The serving staff at the restaurant closer to the ocean although friendly were a bit scattered and slow. Also if you are frightened or annoyed by birds there are many at this outdoor restaurant, they do try to keep them shooed away but it’s a losing battle. Quite basic rooms, no coffee pot, had a tiny fridge and microwave tho. These minor annoyances didnot affect the fine time we had with friends.
