When we arrived they had us in a tower on the 15 th floor. All new and lovely but I don’t like heights lol the promptly gave us a new room (that they let us look at first) that was in the older building. It was perfect for us! It was spacious, clean, and came with a little fridge! (We did not do the all inclusive so we went to Walmart and bought some staples so it was nice to have a fridge!) vicktor the bellman went over and above his job.. we needed a few extra things in our room and he promptly got them for us! The pools were clean and refreshing. There are three pools and we spent most of the time by the family pool because the other pool was for the younger party crowd and we just wanted quiet. The grounds were clean and everyone was so friendly. Would stay again!

Our room was OK in the tower. very basic but it was recently remodeled. Our 2 biggest disappointments are 1) we didn’t get the room category we paid for - especially when we’re only staying for two nights and 2) we were given an adjoining room which was very loud and we were that we wldnt be moved unless the neighbors didn’t follow the 10pm quiet policy. So we just put up with it. We had a la carte breakfast both mornings, ordered the same two dishes and both times they were prepared differently. It was good tho. The pool area gets messy at lunch time with stray napkins etc and no clean up. The pool towels are very worn and all frayed. The grounds are well kept however. There are no beach amenities like use of kayak or boogie boards. Overall it was just OK. We’ve been to worse. I would not stay for a week and I prob wld not return unless there was a really good deal. Upon check in and check out we were not offered a guest suite to change shower etc and we weren’t asked about our stay at all. We love this area as it’s close to airport and amenities like Starbucks, restaurants etc. This is why we chose this hotel.

    Just being truthful!

I have been traveling through Vallarta for 25 years and have stayed at the Krystal many times before years ago. Now they have a mini pool for adults and unless you get up at 6:00 am you will never get a chair, I sat on the poolside until a guy who was an all inclusive guest and so drunk broke out with a nosebleed as he went in and then puked in the water so that pretty much stopped my desire to be in the mini pool, the food offerings were regular at best, waiters were the best part, my room had a big cracked tile at the entrance way to the bathroom and almost cut open my foot which I reported to the administration to no avail. No repair happened. The Krystal does not compare to the competition between the port down to the Malecón, makes me sad as it was a great resort before! I have been in every hotel between the port and the malecón and many multiple times over the 25 years so I feel I can place judgement!

There are lots of little things like the fact that the gym was out of water 12 of the 13 days that I worked out and some of the stations were broken. Little things like that but hey this is Mexico and it's not a 5-star resort and it has decent value in it's price point IMO. We LOVED the grounds and the pool lay-out and the wonderful, big beach. It had a relaxed feel unlike some resorts that seem to have guards everywhere. Our room was clean and modern and we were very happy with everything!!

This resort is great in terms of its beauty, landscaping, and buildings. However, that doesn't make up for the glaring shortcomings. First the dinner buffet..... terrible (and we aren't foodies by any stretch). Pasta night featured watery Alfredo sauce and runny bolognaise. Those were put together by the "chef". The food in the heat racks looked inedible. At breakfast, the "hash browns" were semi-fried mashed potato from the night before that nobody ate then or in the morning. I will say we enjoyed the fresh sandwich bar at lunch, which was the food highlight. The red wine was a bottom-of-the-barrel Chilean something or other that tasted borderline skunky. Couldn't drink it. Poolside and beachside, the lack of loungers is alarming. If you don't have a towel out to reserve them by 7 am, forget it. The resort needs more beach and pool loungers. Our room in the tower was ok, no complaints there. It was clean and on the first floor. Suffice it to say, I won't stay at the Krystal Vallarta again.

Very nice modern room but the only negative thing is that there wasn’t any dresser to put your clothes away. The included breakfast was very good.
