Good value, convenient location, great staff
We spent 4 nights at Hotel Union Square. Location is convenient with all major stores within a minute of hotel. Cable car stops right out front. The staff are very friendly, and helpful. Coffee in the am, and wine and live entertainment in the lobby in the evening is really nice. Although the hotel is old, it’s been updated, and the exposed brick, large windows and updated furniture give it a modern boutique vibe. The rooms are spacious, only drawback is the old, smelly carpets, and loud window a/c unit. Our room was an interior room with windows that looked outside into an atrium of sorts. The windows faced other rooms and was quite dark. You will need to catch a ride share/taxi from the corner as they are not allowed to stop in front of the hotel.

Staff goes the extra mile for you
One of the friendliest and most helpful hotel staffs I've met. Marianna and Heather we welcoming and helped with a booking issue immediately and effectively. Hotel location is ideal - transit, airport connections, shopping, dining ...has it all.

Would stay again!
Excellent hotel with friendly staff. The room was spacious and clean and well air conditioned. The complimentary wine was a nice touch as well as the music and wine in the lobby in the evening. The only negative thing was the area around was a little uneasy at night. Would recommend and stay again.

Good 6.0
Motel quality for luxury hotel price
Staff at the hotel were lovely, but the amenities were poor. Room/hallways were shabby, window faces a brick wall so there was no natural light, no desk in the room, because the double bed filled most of the space. The walls were paper thin. I could hear entire conversations and the snorer next door may as well have been in the room with me. It was motel quality for way too much cash: on top of the already expensive room, I got a surprise when I arrived: there was an extra $29/night charge that I definitely hadn't budgeted for. Good location though.

Old but clean.
Clean hotel but very old. Charge a daily resort fee even though services are minimal. No restaurant or gym. Staff are friendly enough.

Excellent location and the service was great. The concierge Tom was very helpful in planning our daily excursions. Would stay here again.

hidden fees but good service and clean
Not until we arrived did I learn that there was a $30 per night 'facilities fee'. Also I had to pay $40 per day for parking, while most places around provided parking with a room. So when you're looking at the price here add $70 per day if you want to compare apples to apples.

No place else to go? Preview your room.
Awful, first room, No widow, over 95degrees, a closet with a bed stuck in it. Terrible not at all like the photo. Staff assisted the second room, better, again no window. Floow ac unit blowing air into the room. Needless to say, I fell ill the next day with an awful sinus infection. Photos are a misrepresentation of the rooms.Hotel staff was super nice. All in all.

Poor 2.0
Rude and incompetent staff
The staff was awful and rude. Upon check in they were pleasant. We then called later for instruction on their valet and they could not answer our questions and were put off they we were even asking. Then asked face to face and the receptionist told us to not drive. So rude and inappropriate.
