Beautiful Hotel, Terible Service
Never have I ever received such terribly rude service from a hotel. I’ve received better service in lower rated hotels and was absolutely appalled at the way we were treated. The staff at the front desk were extremely rude and dismissive throughout the stay. When I would ask them for the assistance even with the simplest of things, they would snap back with an attitude and a very short answer. Beautiful hotel. Great location but the service is the absolute worst.

this place is a complete trap
i saw the website and really loved the vibe and was super excited to stay here. but i was super disappointed and horrified - i don't know how this place is supposed to be 5 stars. first of all, the room was really dirty, it's quite dusty and there's many signs of poorly maintained areas (is that even a thing? poorly maintained?) and they didn't give us water the first day and there's no tea kettle? (it's 5€ to rent and 20€ if you want tea/coffee set) oh, the toilet is dysfunctional and the water goes down the sink incredibly slow. the bed mattress is the kind that has springs and they are so worn in that if you sit/lie on the edge you WILL fall off. when we asked for more towels, they said they don't have anymore at the moment so we were given robes. the wifi also doesn't work from our room (#355) aside from the decor and the location, i have nothing good to say about this place. i would never stay here again.

Snake Pit
The first reason you are in a hotel is a good nights sleep. Impossible at this old hotel in desperate need of new beds. The mattresses are set on top of a thin metal framed set of skimpy springs which do not get covered completely by the thin mattress. This allows your hands to get caught in the springs. The hallways are dreary with dated red carpet and gold colored walls. Dimly lit so depressing. The rooms are a generous size but also in need of maintenance. We were also charged $24.00 for 2 cokes we ordered at the lobby bar. This did not include a tip. Oh I forgot to mention the hard as bricks pillows. They should turn this grand hotel into a museum for it’s historical background and past as Gestappo headquarters during the war.
