Very Good
I originally booked a regular double bed room, but when we check-in the room was not clean! It looked like someone just threw a party in there! And so we went to the front desk and they kindly upgraded us to a suite.

Good
Chargers for all items
The hotel chargers for every little thing from car parking at $26 a night to internet was $13 a day. Breakfast was a bit expensive at $45 for 2 orders of pancakes and an order of sausages. Other than the chargers the employees were nice, it was clean and conveniently in the the downtown area.

Good
Service was very good but construction in the lobby was inconvenient especially since the drilling started at 7.30am

Fair
Staff not up to Fairmont standards,
The Fairmont is under construction, the noise in the lobby is deafening. Front desk staff was disinterested in helping. on a business trip, i checked my staff in (they were arriving very late) Hotel gave me staff's room away (after it had been paid for and checked in) when he arrived they offered to put him up in a hotel in SF (40-60 minutes away) The did up grade him the next day but the damage was done, and they offer me nothing for waking me up at 12:30A - Mgr was supposed to call , never did, i had to search her out. Token apology and not a very good one at that.

First Time in 5 star Hotel...
Hotel was in process of remodeling. Very loud as we walked in to the hotel. Decor was old style and I’m sure when it was first built it was beautiful. Checking was super fast but the person helping us was a little snobby but brushed it off figured cause it’s a 5 star hotel they act that way. Although, the person checking us out was awesome but valet parking took forever we waited like 30 min. They didn’t tell us how long it would be or give us an estimated time. Our rooms was very much outdated, but a big plus is the beds and pillows very comfy just can melt into it. I think since it is in downtown SJ the traffic and night life you can still hear up until midnight. We were on the 7th floor. But the hotel was close by everything and walking distance to my cousins wedding venue. So that’s a plus. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully by then the place is done with their renovation.
