Upon arrival in what seemed like a tarnished version of what was shown online and with I95 as a backdrop, replete with sounds and all, I attempted to keep an open mind. The hotel is nestled in what seemed to be a private and quiet property in the trees, but the actuality of it was that the hotel was a few doors down from a Harley Davidson store, a busy gas station and a gentlemen’s club. The decor was basic at best with a lot of brown and dim lighting (contrary to the bright sunny Floridian natural lighting outdoors) which seemed depressing. The outdoor pool was heated which was nice in January, and the staff seemed friendly albeit not as polished as some Marriotts can be. The hotel is billed as one that’s smoke-free, but one could smell the waft of tobacco regularly as well as the occasional smell of an herbal alternative. All in all the place was mostly clean and a good mediocre and affordable lodging option. It’s a little no-frills but if is safe and clean.
