Disappointing
Won’t go into it publicly as the majority of our issues were already addressed by a manager. I will say it will be a long time before we return though. Not worth the money.

Started out great ended up horrible.
The hotel was great, nice room easy check in. Woke up on the morning to find out our car was broken into and valuables were stolen. Their security let a shady character on a bike enter the parking ramp and steal our belongings. The manager was not able to help us get the police to come help. We were told to file a report online. Then we called back for help after we left, told they would comp our room for the bad experience and were never refunded.

Poor Management and Lackluster service
The hotel did not clean our room during our visit, despite offering to do so. They did not provide towels for our second night, I had to go down to the front desk to dispose of trash and get new clean towels. numerous staff complained about being short-staffed and overworked. The Front Desk worker was rude and dismissive. There were cigarette butts on our patio and the room smelled a little like smoke, despite it being a Smoke-Free room.

Overall Disappointing
I selcted this hotel because it appeared higher end & was priced according to those standards. We come to kansas city 3/4 times a year to shop & eat at the crown plaza. The staff here was super friendly but thats all they have going for them. It appears updated but the painted wood for example, is banged up bad. The beds are uncomfortable, pillows rock hard and the bottom sheet easily moves off exposing the bare matress. There were coffee stains (or dog pee) on the floor, cheap in-room coffee selection, the toilet is 6 inches off the ground and the handle you a have to push and pull to make it flush. I opted for the higher end king bed room and it had a chair, not a sofa & was tiny. The pool had a large group of people smoking weed discreetly (but we could smell it). Then more walked in with caseys pizza, obviosuly high, to join them. When we left to walk to dinner, they were leaving and we noticed 5 of them walked out the main lobby with grocery bags of their clothes and walked over to another parking lot to leave - apparently they're locals and seem to do this often. The restaurants food was decent, we wont try it again. The pictures are deceiving. It has the look and the location but nothing more. Spend your money elsewhere.

Overall pretty good.
We got the wrong typer of room at first but the front desk switch it out. Then the key didnt work because the door keypad was dead but they got someone to fix that. After we got the right room it was good for the most part. There was a little mold in the shower. But evrything else seemed clean. It was a good experience once everything was settled.
