Great value for money for a family trip to Tokyo. Quite location but with easy access to Tokyo via subway. Also enough walking distance shops to avoid having t pay hotel prices for coffee, breakfast and a beer or glass of wine.

An icon of Tokyo that retains it's charm
The Okura never fails to disappoint even though I have stayed there numerous times. It has a home away from home feeling. Please retain the South Wing for posterity. The traditional Japanese architecture is what the Okura is known for and loved by many guests. The new wing will be just like any other 5 star luxury hotel. All glass and elegance but nothing unique. If retained the charm of the Okura can be retained in the South Wing and complemented by a new luxurious wing with more rooms. Then guests have a choice, those who prefer the traditional and heritage will pick the South Wing and those that care for modernity and luxury can choose the new North Wing buildings.

Timeless Charm~
Hotel interior and in-room carpeting is definitely old but manages to stay classy. Bathrooms are really nice and timeless as they are made with black marble countertops. The service staff more than compensates for the hotel's age with best-in-class hospitality that makes you feel like the hotel is more exclusive that it lets on. Will stay again.

Where jet-set age & traditional Japanese reside
Wonderful Okura-style service (blending Japanese traditional with jet-set age American...it’s where Don Draper would have stayed in Tokyo) as always. Fantastic relaxing times at the Orchid Bar (non-smoking section in penthouse - Mr. Fukuda leads a great staff), and excellent support from the concierge’s desk (Anna was especially helpful).

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. The staff are all courteous, responsive and respectful. We will repeat our stay at Okura whenever we go back to Japan.
