Our stay at the Grand Hyatt was wonderful! Great beach, great food, drinks and food pool side. The grounds at this hotel are gorgeous. Easy access to everything. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.

The Hyatt is a large hotel on the South Shore of Kauai. Plenty of amenities with several pool options and hot tubs as well as the beach. The weather was cool and overcast for most of our stay which made the pools cool for swimming. The lagoon pool was our most favourite and least busy. The lazy river does not have any current or flow, it is just a windy pool for swimming. Lots of trails adjacent to the hotel for walking (good running shoes/hiking shoes recommended). Surf was quite rough and part of the beach is public access but not many were there during our stay. Stunning views from any part of the resort. We only ate breakfast at the resort as several of the restaurants are very expensive and there are several great options in Poipu and Koloa to eat for a reasonable cost. The room was quiet (we were on top floor) and we did not hear any outside noise (aside from local roosters-beware as they are everywhere on Kauai). Breakfast was good - we had two buffets and two ordered from the menu. We preferred the options from the menu as the food was a little more fresh (fruit plate is huge!). Long wait times for seats at breakfast so send someone early to get a spot for your family (weekends seemed busier). For such a large hotel it is a fairly small breakfast area. We used the free laundry facilities which were adequate for our needs with free soap and dryer sheets. If staying on South Shore, definitely recommend the Hyatt.
