Enjoyed the stay but the TV in the room was very old and the image regularly disappeared due to poor reception I think.. The pool was good and worked really well in terms of its location
One of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed in Canberra (I go there a lot). The Pavillon is a nice feature. My only complaint is it got a little noisy on Saturday night.
We arrived late...reception was walm and welcoming.
Unfortunately the fire alarm was set off a number of times, and the a/c unit motor noise blasted the central atrium. This occurred early evening and we were waiting for bar service and dinner orders. It took over 1 1/2 hours before the situation was taken into control. we had decided to ask for the meal to be cancelled (this occurred with no cost). There appeared to be minimal staff to supervise this situation and communication for evacuation and information was scarce. Overall an uncomfortable situation, no fault of the Hotel. However the management of the situation was not appropriate.
Great place, good clean facilities. Staff very helpful & courteous.
Beds are super comfy, room was very clean and bathroom was very nice. There was some very loud people yelling at each other in the hallway quite early in the morning. The facilities were very nice. The hotel could probably use a little more signage directing guests to reception, lifts etc
Hubby and I had a wonderful stay at the Rydes. They reserved parking for our 4WD that wouldn't have fit in underground garage. We arrived late and weren't overly keen on the limited and pricey on demand menu options so ubereats it was having little children to bath and put to bed. Big thanks for prepping the cot and pull out sofa for us without request, it made things just a bit easier. We had breakfast at the downstairs George the next morning, the "freshly squeezed" juice we are pretty sure was bottle juice and possibly not worth the amount charged but the food was amazingly tasty. Overall a lovely stay, we will be back. :)
Rydges is within walking distance of many of the South Canberra attractions - the galleries, Kingston and Manuka. When we walked in the interior smelled beautiful and the new bar and restaurant area ( only half is open at the moment) is beautifully done. The rooms are spacious and the check in staff allowed us extra time to check out so that we could fit in a game of tennis at the Parliament House courts. I'd stay here again.
