Good stay in Copacabana.
This is an older facility but with a great beach location central to Copacabana and services.

Great location !
On day 2 at hotel, i noticed that the mini fridge bill marked that I took some candies and water, which I did not. Took the bill down to the reception, the lady staff just said the room maintenance staff made a mistake, took the bill from me and said she would cancel it, no apologies. I had the feeling that they are used to 'mistakes' like this, so do check the bill. Also, water are just luke warm for shower in the evening, but ok if you shower in the morning. Location is good, close to quiet beach, nearby has grocery store and convenient buffet style dinner.

A solid choice of hotel
The staff is great; very helpful. The views are great, as well as the fact that it seems to be the only hotel on the beach at Copacabana with actual balconies. The bedspreads were a little worn, and the toilet seat was in a mild state of disrepair. The breakfast buffet was very good. By my American standards I would consider it a nice budget hotel. I would certainly stay there again, but I was initially expecting something more luxurious. The location is very convenient. But overall it was a good deal.

Nice hotel with good service
This is a very nice hotel, but we weren't aware the beachfront location meant we would be exposed to the very loud music blasting from the late-night souvenir vendors lined up along the beachfront. The front desk changed our room to one facing a quieter side street, but the toilet in that room didn't flush well and the air conditioning was very loud. So the front desk again accommodated us and changed us to another room. High marks for their service and understanding of our need to get a good night's sleep!

Carnaval Stay
Service was very good everyone was very friendly. Rooms were not clean. First room we had black mold in the bathroom and the towels were dirty. We got moved to another room. That room the curtains had mold on them and we found ants in the bed. For how much we were paying each night it’s not acceptable. Liked having the valet for the car and everyone at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Good location right on the beach close to places to eat and bars as well.

Poor 2.0
Terrible Customer Service
Specific to my situation: The booking department "forgot" my reservation, then tried to charge me several times the agreed upon price for a "new reservation". After wasting more than an hour of my vacation arguing with several employees, they finally acquiesced and charged me the agreed upon price. General commentary: Staff was rude and unhelpful, except in the last minute or two before expecting a tip. Check In and Check Out were continuously understaffed over my several day stay with huge lines of people generally waiting 30+ minutes to be helped. Rooftop pool is underwhelming, at best.

Rio Othon Palace
Booked and fully paid for 4 months in advance with Hotel.com and promised VIP fast check-in....NOT!!!! I’ve stayed here on 3 or 4 previous occasions so this was disappointing. Rio had a problem with the public water supply and I can only say the taste of the water was disgusting... so much so I couldn’t drink the coffee and used bottle water for teeth brushing. Although the other hotel I stayed in had the same problem they obviously used different water for their coffee. I will return but hoping for improvement next year

A vista é incrível e só...acaba aí.
A única coisa decente nesse hotel é a vista. Piscina pequena e deteriorada. Check-in e check-out desastroso. A entrega de malas funcionou bem.

The employees were awesome from the manager to the waiters and waitresses great experience. The A/C in the room was a not working properly but was not in the room enough to know until it was late at night. I would stay here again
