Manager needs to learn the simple word “sorry”
Had asked for a late checkout (I have insomnia and hard time sleeping) and I also notified the desk when checking in that I would possibly be staying a 2nd night. At 8am I got a knock on the door of housekeeping being told I had checked out. Another knock again at 9. And then again at 11... I had already gone downstairs and paid for my 2nd night. Kindly asked the hotel manager to ask his cleaning staff to not knock on my door if I haven’t left the room. Especially at 8am when the hotel is destitute from covid 19... I get ANOTHER knock while trying to take a nap before my online meeting. Went back downstairs to talk to manager and I ask him if he even talked to his staff. His Immediate response was to try and white shame me and call me condescending and that “I said I was checking out”. I kindly asked him to NOT put words in my mouth and even his front desk confirmed I never said I was checking out. he then says “well why don’t you utilize your do not disturb sign. That’s how our staff knows, how come you don’t!” I’m sorry but I’ve never stayed in a hotel where it’s policy for the guest to know your staff rules and for cleaning to ONLY check people DND signs. Even his front desk agent gave me a look of “I’m sorry he’s the way he is” after he tried to tell me “his” hotel was over 90% booked when I said there’s no reason for 8am “are you gone yet” knocks. The maids will not be getting a tip because their manager failed to communicate. Won’t be staying here again.

Not what i expected
The room was large and spcious however the furniture was very outdated and the couch spring were broken. So good luck getting out of it. We requested a king suite and they had to give us a room with two beds.

Unsafe, dirty. Never again
The place was over run by homeless people. The first floor reeked of pot. The room and other floors reeked of smoke. All supposed to be non smoking. They were “aware” but did nothing. Homeless people were in the stairwells inside and outside. People running in and out of building until 4 am. Someone kicked through a glass door pane in the lobby and police were attending. NO SECURITY! If you have this many issues, invest in some security guards. The rooms were not very clean. You could see old mascara stains and even dried on snot!!!! On the towels. Doors all had dirty fingerprints that hadn’t been cleaned. Did not feel safe at all. The only plus was that the front desk staff were friendly. Never again.

The rooms are not clean, spills on walls, dirt in closet and along trim, paint peeling off bathroom ceiling. Weekday free breakfast caters to working people, closes up by 9am so we missed that. No workout gear or pool

Everything was very good The microwave and living room tv were dated but worked properly. The wifi was difficult to sign on to although we were able to sign on and use it but I couldnt get signed on the following morning while at breakfast

Comfy stay
We were happy with our stay. For an older property, it was well kept. Our room was spacious and clean although the bathroom ceiling could use some paint. The gentleman on the front desk was very accommodating. There was a good variety of offerings for breakfast as well. We would definitely stay there again.

not very good service.
Blood stain on pull out couch mattress. The man at the desk wouldn't give us extra blankets to make the pull out more comfortable. We asked but where refused. We also had trouble with the service dog that was with us. The young man obviously didn't know the policy regarding service dogs.
