Excellent...but room was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep. Air conditioning unit was broken...and why should you need air conditioning in the middle of winter?

Good stay at the Empire Hotel
Hotel is very well located a few yards from Lincoln Center, subway station (66th Street) and Central Park. It is not a touristy area which is great when you want to relax away from the big crowds of Times Square. Good restaurants in the area but if you are looking for fast food places, you will need to walk a few blocks down to 50th street near Times Square. They upgraded my room upon arrival, bed was very cozy. Staff was good and friendly. Good value for the price, I would stay at this hotel again.

Great stay. Friendly staff. Bathrooms a bit small and do not have an exhaust fan. Roof top patio a plus.

Average hotel room but good staff and location.
I upgraded to a junior suite as I was concerned about the reviews of the tiny rooms. The junior suite was on the 10th floor, had a nice view, a larger bathroom and sitting area with apartment size sofa. However, the bathroom was not functional, counter space was very small, minimal shelving couldn't fit most toiletries bottles etc. The tap for the sink was too close to the actual sink leaving very little room to wash hands under tap. The shower area was large but hard to use, the hand held shower and water diverter is extremely hard to use you have to physically turn a lever at the very top to divert the water every time to hand held shower only that is hard to maneuvre. I needed the hand held shower for my little one. Rain shower was adequate. The door of the bathroom couldn't open properly as the flooring was raised slightly. Bed was ok, adequate bedding. You can hear the noise from the street even when windows closed maybe from the vent of the air conditioner, that did not really work properly either. The room did not feel very clean, the furnishings and wallpaper are dark to hide that. The lobby area and bar is very nice. The hotel staff were nice and accomodating for extra towels and supplies. I did not bother complaining to management, too busy with my trip. Free wifi only in lobby, have to pay to use in room. Overall average hotel room with bad design in washroom but great location in the city, convenient with Starbucks and Duane Reade at door.

Convenient Hotel
Recently stayed here, location was great, close enough to everything yet far enough from the craziness. The bathroom needed some touch ups. And not having free WiFi and coffee in the rooms was a real disappointment.
