    Don’t bring the kids!
We were very disappointed with this property. We travelled with our 10 and 12 year old and the hotel is really not kid friendly at all. The kids pool is out of the way and has no service or music. The main pool and restaurant were for adults so we didn’t sit poolside and have cocktails like we normally would while in Palm Springs.

Staff upon check was not so friendly but then other staff was very friendly and accommodating. Family pool too cold to swim in-we were allowed to use chi chi pool at first but eventually got kicked out by other staff. The pool problem was never resolved while we were there which was 5 days. Current menu didn’t have great dinner options-felt like there weren’t enough entrees.

    Nice Boutique Hotel
We stayed at the Avalon for 4 nights. The location is very good as it is close to the main strip of Palm Springs. The hotel service is very good and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are a good size with a balcony. The hotel charges a resort fee of $40 that includes valet parking. Overall a good experience and would recommend.

    Just ok
Positive: great location, grounds nicely maintained, rooms are clean, nice pools and nice staff Negative: grounds are small, restaurant is practically non existent, food was sub par and over priced. Service by the pool incredibly slow. Had to valet my car and was not aloud to drive it myself off premise making it inconvenient to leave whenever I wanted to. Location barely has a front entrance making it easy to miss. I visited the spa to try and get some info waited 15 minutes after the opening hour and still no staff. Just not the best value or experience for the money.

Lovely grounds and beautiful views from our room. Would have loved aesthetics of the room to be touched up a bit to really bring it over the top, but overall, this is a hotel I would recommend to others.

    Poor 2.0
    Not worth the money
Briefly: do no considered this hotel trendy / fancy since service and amenities do no lived to the standards. From the moment we check in, we felt that the service was not their strength. Even though the check in was quick it was not informative as we found out on our own that there was complimentary coffee in the morning. After checking in we were offered some bubbles which was served in plastic glasses, while other guests had glass champagne glasses (do they really only have 2 glass glasses???). The room was very basics with old furnitures. No coffee machine in the room either. The bathroom was bare with little place the place personal items. Shower do not have any shelves to put soaps, shampoo.... Beds are soft. The pools area felt very crowded and small. The complimentary toiletries items weren’t replaced by the maids the next morning. The bill that was presented at checkout included a fee for items that we did not request. Even though it was corrected we found that it was an other sign on incompetence.

Not fo families or remote work
We did not like this hotel as a family. We booked (paid $320+ per night) to be in 3 beautiful pools, but were stuck in an old motel with a family pool next to the main road with chipped paint, garbage floating in water, bugs floating, hair and almost no service. The family pool is 9 ft deep and starts at 4 ft with 3 tiny stairs to enter, then shortly goes to 6 ft and then to 9 ft. The 4 ft part is very small. So you will spend your weekend in that tiny 4ft space holding your kid for obvious reasons. We got the worst, smallest room in hotel. It was 4 feet around each side of our king size bed. AC was barely able to cool it off. We did not get bath robes (saw other guests wear them), no waters provided in room (most 4-star hotels do, esp in 115F), no wine glasses, though there were plenty mini bar bottles, no shower hat. Our shower was not working well. It was impossible to work out of the room since it was so small. There was no space in entire hotel to work or make phone call. Your only option was pool space in 115F heat. We were woken up by large crates being transferred back and forth each morning. There is nothing to do here with a kid. There were 2 really nice adult pools with great service, new furniture, water mists and pool umbrellas. This was not the case for the family pool. On a plus side, food was good, guests were high quality, family pool was empty both days, service at restaurant was excellent and its walking distance to the strip.

This hotel is gorgeous. The grounds were well kept, the view was amazing and our room was clean, classy, and very comfortable.

Bed was terrible and the social distancing was not spaced out as it should have been, at the pool.
