Worst Room for Accessibility in 40 Years
We booked a King Accessible Room to be close for my appointment with my surgeon at the Moffitt Cancer Center.
The King Bed was at such a high level making it totally impossible to transfer to from my wheelchair to the bed even when my wife attempted to assist me.
My wife pleaded with front desk to remove the base or box spring to lower the level of the bed, but they adamantly refused to offer any assistance.
So I was barely able to sleep on a small, hard, and uncomfortable couch that was close to my wheelchair level.
And then it was extremely difficult to use the sink in the morning as it has a solid vanity wall extending from the sink making it impossible for a wheelchair to get near the basin.
I've been paralyzed in a wheelchair and traveling around the world, but this was the worst "accessible" room I have encountered in more than 40 years.
Great location for Moffitt, but I would have been better off sleeping in my van than in that Red Roof Inn "Accessible" room! Total waste of our money!!
