Somewhat disappointed
Overall average stay. Had strict check in and check out times. Amenities outside the room was fairly good. Pool deck tended to be busy. Room floors were perpetutely sandy. Would not let this guest keep a towel for a few more hours after check out to attend the pool while waiting for the plane. Bathroom conditions were subpar. I am not quite sure about it’s 4-star rating.. I would say it is a 3.5 star hotel. Location was convenient overall

Wonderful location, right on Ipanema Beach. And easy walking to wonderful restaurants/bars/clubs. Staff was truly wonderful! Our only disappointment was the breakfast. There was ample food, but everything was served room temperature. The "hot" plates were cold, the yogurt and juices were lukewarm.

Hotel Praia Ipanema is on Ipanema beach on the edge of the upscale Leblon neighborhood. The hotel is very clean and nice and the staff is friendly. We had a balcony room on the 6th floor overlooking the beach. It can be noisy on the weekends with beach partiers. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, very clean, the faucet water is potable. There is a small infinity pool on the roof ( 16th floor) with lounge chairs along with a restaurant and bar- exceptional views up there! Breakfast buffet is included and is delicious. The beach is across the street and you can rent chairs and an umbrella, buy coconuts with a straw, boiled corn on the cob, chips, soft drinks, beer, beer, jewelry, clothes, etc. from the traveling beach vendors for a fraction of what it cost in the USA. The main shopping street is 2 blocks inland and an easy walk. We were very happy with Hotel Praia Ipanema and would stay there again.

The Hotel is Okay, but had an issue with the Reception. They offered to book the Cable Car to Sugar Loaf moutain for us, but the ticket they isssued proved to be useless. They would not issue a refund because it was booked by them through a third party. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
