Our new Favourite Hotel in Brisbane
While we have visited Brisbane many times, this was the 1st time we have stayed at the Stamford Plazza—a great Hotel close to the CBD, several bars and many good Restaurants. We will certainly stay there again. Highly recommended.

Losing its 5 star appeal
A little disappointing this time around, I think it has lost some of its 5 star appeal. The rooms are looking tired, every lamp shade had some sort of crack or dent in it. All the pictures hanging and the mirror were lop sided. There was a magazine rack in the room but no magazines, there use to be magazines. We had to change rooms as they checked us into the wrong room, 1st room had free water, 2nd room did not. Usually you have soap in both the shower and sink, only at the sink. Hard to get room service or even see a menu, I think it's different now. We had to go down to the restaurant to order and take back to room. Tried ringing reception a number of times, but no answer to find out. Noticed on check out, that a customer was given the full run down on breakfast times, etc and that the phones were not working properly so dial 9. Was never told this. Have had a better breakfast in the past there, now it does looked scaled back. It just seemed like there was a lot of cost saving going on at the hotel and just didn't have that same luxury appeal it usually has. The river views were fantastic. For a 5 star property you just expect better.
