Best & Worst
Best; Most staff in the restaurant are excellent apart from one bald male. Worst; Washroom.. Shower with worst pressure flow ever, also, can hear neighbouring room as if people are in the same room

Ok hotel but not recomended
No hot water in our room, Ask if we can move to other rooms with hot water and no avilable rooms, instead you have to go to 5th floor for a shower. Wi fi is intermetent

You get what you pay for...
Was quoted $46 CDN / night for this "4-star" hotel on Hotels.com. My credit card was charged for $86 CDN / night for some reason though. Hotel also claims to be 4-star. I don't have high standards but I wouldn't give this more than 2.5 stars. The carpets were stained, the drain in the shower was clogged with hair so overflowed quickly, the air conditioning broke down for about 24hrs at one point and there was patch work done on the walls that wasn't completely finished as it was bulging out and was a different colour than the wall paint. We were also expecting a queen sized bed but got two singles pushed together (although I've been told this is a European thing). We asked the overnight concierge about fixing the overflowing shower and he said there was nothing he could do and started acting all frazzled. Also not sure if there was a power surge while we were there but my phone that was charging also fried and died. Am definitely not staying here next time we're in Rome. On a positive note, the area was close to the Vatican and subway. Both within a 10 min walk. The concierge who checked us in during the afternoon shift was nice and helpful.

Nice hotel. Wifi in the room only worked if you were standing next to the hallway door. Walking distance to the Vatican which was great during the day but everything in the area closes early so it was dark and deserted walking around after dark. Mini ants in the bathroom

GREAT PLACE in all ways, except for the AC.
In excellent condition...super clean...not a trace of smoke. Somewhat old, but definitely a quality property, very well maintained. The staff is super helpful. INCREDIBLY GREAT BREAKFAST with varied fine pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages, juices, gourmet coffee, cereal, yogurt, and more. Wonderful. Strangely, the scrambled eggs were "floating" in liquid/egg juice, not to my liking. Maybe that's a European thing. But, the staff took some of the "wet" eggs, and cooked them for me, until "dry". Our room's bathroom was tiny, but spotless, all walls and the shower seemingly made of real marble. The only complaint about the hotel is our room air conditioner only barely worked "so-so". It cooled the room just a little. On days in the 90's, the room was half-way between warm and slightly cool. Not the air conditioning Americans are used to. The hotel's location is superb, close to the Vatican and other attractions, along with Rome's subway system. All is a short walk away. Buses are close, but we didn't use them. The hotel arranged economical private taxi service to the airport. We would DEFINITELY stay at Quality Hotel Nova Domus again. Lastly, a GREAT, UNIQUE place to eat is only just about 1 block away---a really upscale all-you-can eat Chinese-Japanese restaurant. Incredible service and service---really...only about $25. In three days, we ate there three times. Note, this is NOT the Chinese place just across the street from the hotel's front door.

The room is small and the bathroom is smelly. It's an old hotel and everything is very basic. Not comfortable but the location is good. Walking distance to Vatican City and all tourist spots. Breakfast is ok and staff is friendly too.

Friendly staff/Convenient location
What a pleasant surprise. From the warm welcome to the friendly greetings from every member of the staff that I saw it was like home away from home. The breakfast was outstanding. The restaurant had a great dinner special with many options that was very inexpensive and included wine, dessert, small plate, large plate, and a side dish. Rooms were typical size for Rome and Europe , maybe a little bigger and were nicely kept. Good WiFi. Easy walk to Vatican and St Peter's.
