Nic experience
We travelled with a group and we all had the same feeling! Great adjacent restaurants, nice pub with entertainment nightly! Wish we were there to experience the pool!

Awesome Boutique Hotel
Loved the whole theme of the hotel - like an old castle. Loved the stained glass windows and antique decor. Love my souvenir book mark that coincides with my room name, i.e. D.H. Lawrence - Lady Chatterley's Lover. The location was so close to The Loop where we picked up souveniers in a couple different stores that are members of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) and Forest Park where we ate lunch at the Boathouse patio overlooking the lake. Didn't have time to enjoy the pool but it looked very inviting. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. This trip was with my mom and sister to see some old friends and they loved this hotel too. Can't wait to come back and share this very romantic hotel with my fiance!!!

Check-in was fast, friendly and efficient. All of the staff, throughout our stay, were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The hotel itself is in need of an upgrade. Even though the theme is "the olden days" some much needed maintenance is required and our room was not all that clean upon arrival. There was dust over all of the dressers and tabletops. We were disappointed that this hotel was rated a 4.3 as we do not think that it "lived up" to this rating.

Awful place
Way over rated hotel and was super expensive for such a tiny room. Old, very poor wireless signal; everyone raved on other reviews about breakfast but it was mediocre at best and had zero meats. Parking was 10 bucks self park and 14 valet and valets were great; About the only good thing about the place. Was close to several good restaurants and coffee shops and was relatively easy access from interstates. Was close to 'The Hill' area where there are some good eating places in old italian neighborhoods. I wouldn't bother staying at this place for the price they charge and would not go back if I'm in St Louis area. About a 60 buck place that ended up over 200 bucks for one night.

Needs work but still cute
Check in was fast and easy. Everyone on staff was welcoming and polite. The hotel is a little dated..but that's part of the theme I think. They could brush up on their housekeeping. Clearly the shower wasn't cleaned out as there was hair on the floor and the towels were dingy. The room could of been dusted a little better. Also the AC kicked on every few minutes which was fine because it did drown out the outside noises. I didn't get to partake in everything the hotel had to offer but the themed rooms were cute, the staff was friendly, the beds were comfy and they are in fact pet friendly. I felt safe walking my dog around the neighborhood at night so that's a bonus especially since I was traveling alone. I would give it another try if I pass through the area again. They just need to brush up on some minor housekeeping skills.
