A superb hotel with lovely grounds snd pool area well served by a good cafe/bar. Wonderfully varied menu in a grest dining room. Second visit - will visit again!
We believe all inclusive should mean all inclusive. Only one choice of white wine offered (tasted vinegary) amazed when presented our bill on leaving to find charges for kit-kit and drinks from the bar in our room and for a smoothie from the beach bar. No prior indication that these were not included.
We visited the hotel in 2005 for a friends wedding and decided to return for a short break in 2019. Unfortunately the hotel needs extensive renovation and desperately showing its age. Occupancy levels were low and the All Inclusive arrangements were below expectations. Staff were very friendly but let down by the hotel itself, we expected more and reliant on the brand but were left a little disappointed with the overall experience.
This hotel is advertised as 5*, unfortunately it reminded me more of a 3* 1980s package hotel! Poor impression on arrival with a vacuous reception area lacking furniture. The guest room was in urgent need of a refurb (same as the rest5 of the hotel. On check in the extremely polite gent seemed to be more intent on confusing us with a meal-combination which HAD to be booked immediately (or at latest end of day). It would have been nicer to be given a brochure and at least a night to contemplate the pros and cons. I'm a frequent visitor to Melia Hotels, but this was not up to the usual standard. *Breakfast buffet was good*
The staff were all friendly and helpful and the hotel was posh. The buffet meals were excellent. The evening entertainment was a bit hit or miss, no big deal.
Room was perfect. Pool was nice and the spa was really good. Would stay here again.
Stayed here last week in August 2019 for an all inclusive week away with my mum. The holiday itself was very relaxing but the hotel and particularly the food was ‘average’. The all inclusive was a buffet each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a pool bar. I have to say the drinks available on all inclusive at the bar were good (cocktails, prosecco, wine, beer etc) but the food got very boring after a week! There was pretty much the same thing every day, some not tasty. They did a few themed nights which one of the chefs did a great job at (sushi, stir fry) but generally it was average. We went for the all inclusive but not the ‘level’ access which was really confusing when booking with Expedia. They got access to a different part of the pool (just sunbeds but no pool I believe) and another restaurant but I couldn’t see any other noticeable differences for the price. We were lucky enough to be in the end room (432) so had views of the sea and the lovely breeze which was a god send since there’s no air con in the rooms! Couldn’t believe that when we turned up! If we hadn’t had that breeze we’d have struggled in the stiflingly hot room! The staff were average, a few waiters made an effort at meal times but overall slow service with taking dirty plates away and almost made to feel like we were putting them out for asking for another drink! It was unclear if the water provided was bottled or tap and I got different answers from different people. Overall an average stay!
Its by the beach and has a good breakfast selection. The restaurant is pretty big. The hotel itself is very dated and could do with a major renovation. Not suitable at all for young couples/families and certainly not business travellers. The service was probably the worse I've experienced in a hotel of this class. The staff were rude and although my Spanish is shaky they were talking about my complaints in Spanish to each other. This hotel puts a Euro charge for charity on your bill without informing you. They also tried to charge me for multiple items from the mini bar - I only put things in there! The bar is awful and the drinks pretty much watered down - go out of this hotel for a decent food and drink selection. All in all one of the worst hotels I've stayed in and I'm never going back, even if my work pays for it!
Beautiful, well-maintained grounds. Excellent daily 'keep fit' activities. No soap provided in room and Euro2.50 for a small bottle of water at dinner were biggest niggles.
Not enough staff around and dated property stuck in the 1980s. Staff are not friendly probably due to overwork but clearly are also more comfortable with Spanish rather than English guests. Lots needs to be done to make this a real 5 star experience
