Beach front hotel, nice pool area, excellent views. Didn’t like the constant push to participate in timeshare presentations.

The view from our balcony was amazing and the pool areas were quite nice (although several umbrellas were in need of repair/replacing). 'A la carte items from the restaurants on site were very good, however the buffet offerings were somewhat lacking. Surprisingly too, except for the pool bar, there is no real bar in the hotel - the "sports bar" near the lobby appears to be an afterthought - with a temporary station for mixing drinks, a couple of TVs, 6 or 8 tables and an early closing time (to likely limit the amount of 'all-inclusive' drinks provided). Beware too that there is NO FREE WiFi!!! All in all, I'd have to say that if you've ever stayed at a true all-inclusive (ie. Riu Palace, Grand Bahia Principe, etc.) you will probably be disappointed. Interestingly though, Mazatlan doesn't seem to have many of these resorts compared to other destinations in Mexico.

Polite and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet at la concha was excellent. Pools are spacious and just off the beach. The also have “palapas” on the beach to lounge in front of the ocean. Overall a great stay and will return.

Had a great time overall! The pool was great and we had great access to the restaurants. We did realize after the first few days that our bracelet was not rated high enough to do certain things and began to notice that those with more expensive all inclusive bracelets had access to better food and we often felt treated like second class citizens by staff. We had a good time overall and would definitely go back if given the opportunity, but this did leave a bit of a sour taste in our mouth as we felt the level of our bracelet should not effect the service we received.

The El Cid property was Excellent, clean and central to Mazatlán. The staff was excellent especially Martin at the Concha Restaurant he always took care of us. Some of the short falls was the Wifi charges per individual device, I've stayed at many other resorts in Mexico and never have been charged for this. I had to pay for 3 individual charges.Smoking by the pool should be regulated to smoking areas. We had no success booking ala-carte restaurants, and the dinners were repetitive after a week. The shows at the Theater was nice. The vendors pay no attention to the ropes and constantly try to sell their stuff to you all day long. The pool was nice and the servers always worked hard to keep you hydrated. All in all a solid place to stay, I would return for sure but would probably use the Elite All Inclusive, which is what most other chains provide at resorts all over Mexico for everyone with out charging extra.

I have come here for years and always liked the overall. But, what I did not like about booking through Expedia, El Cid would not provide free WiFi to guests. When I go to Europe, the USA or stay in a hotel in Canada, Internet is free. Expedia maybe should check into this for their clients. Thank you.

Noisy
The hotel does not provide free wifi. It was $25 for the week. Very noisy at night. A band plays on the beach until 1 am. There is a night club nearby that plays music until 4 am. I would not stay there again.

El Moro family favorite
El Moro is our favorite hotel. We had stayed there for the past 3 years. Nevee disappointed. We traveled with 2 kids who loved the pool since it has a rock where they can jump from. Very secure.
