Don't judge a book by it's cover
When we first pulled up to the hotel, my wife was disappointed. Our last couple of hotels on this trip had been disappointing, and the exterior of this hotel made her think that we would be disappointed again. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Although the lobby could use some work, it was still gorgeous. Especially the woodwork used. Our room had a couple of small issues, but were minor and were more than made up for by the spacious, comfortable room. If there is anything that would keep me from going back is the location. It is downtown, and has a lot of homeless around the area. They never gave us any trouble, but we still didn't feel safe walking around the area.

Affordable downtown option
Hotel Louisville serves a useful purpose in downtown Louisville. It is affordable, has secure parking, and offers decent lunch for a very low price. I have been often for dance functions in their top-floor event space, which has a lovely view of the city. I am excited that Jerry Green, singer of Motown covers for decades, will be offering his skills there soon. The hotel itself used to be grand and now is pretty basic. The area is typical of many downtowns, not super safe especially at night, which is why I appreciate the extra security in the parking lot.

What a fantastic concept!
The front desk staff (William) was amazing, and helpful! Breakfast runs until 9, but we got there at 0730 and there was nothing left. The shower and sink were full of hair and there were runnels of dirt everywhere. It was taken care of as soon as we mentioned it, but it happened every day… the maids need just a little more supervision…
