The hotel was a walking distance to most amenities and the staff specially Damien at the front desk was very helpful and nice.

Great hotel. But not in the best location. Too many lower scale establishments in the area.

Some ongoing outside renovations, but otherwise a pleasant stay. The hotel is within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle and the City Bus Tour route for your pleasure. One disappointment was in the bar and slow service to have dinner in the evening. Despite being one of only four parties for dinner, from start to finish it took us almost 90 minutes. I found this to be very slow and was almost ready to walkout prior to ordering dinner. Concierge at the front desk, sorry I can't remember your name, I do believe he was originally from Italy. This gentleman was very helpful in assisting us in selection our free bottle of wine at check-in. I would stay here again if in the city.

I took my husband for a surprise birthday stay however the plans got mostly ruined when we got to the hotel and there was a power cut, we sat in the lobby unable to check in for almost 2 hours.when we finally got to the room we had to sit in darkness wait for power to come back. Room has been cleaned in darkness by cleaner, things haven’t been restocked, we had to ask later at reception for things like toilet paper and hankie chiefs. there was also a coffee machine with a sign that it was complimentary and a box beside it where I’m assuming the little capsules are supposed to be to put into the machine, box was empty. We asked for this at the reception and then twice in the morning when cleaners chapped our door hours before check out time and we were woken up. Also no one has ever returned with the coffee pods. Eventually I gave up and walked down to Pret near by to get one.Hotel was beautiful and I was very much looking forward to the stay however I’m quite disappointed with how it turned out and especially that my husbands birthday weekend I planned didn’t go anywhere near to what I planned.

A great hotel in a relatively central location, although not perhaps in the best neighbourhood. However, at no point did anything or anyone in the neighbourhood actually cause us to feel in any way uncomfortable, so I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other travelers.

The hotel has the best location - right at the footsteps of Edinburgh Castle. The staff were very friendly and polite and helped us a lot with information. The room was great just a bit with the old carpet smell. I would improve the breakfast menu a bit too. But overall - a great lovely hotel.

Nice and clean Hotel near the castle and walkable to most attractions. We had a room with a view of the castle, great room overall but we could hear a creaking noise from the PH units above us and the noise from the bar across the street until it closed. Overall a great experience, loved the warm cookies they gave us whenever we asked.

Perfect location in Old Town, and our room had a view of the Castle! We could walk to many attractions, shopping and restaurants (there are a few hills). Room was comfortable and spacious; good bed and linens. Quiet. Complimentary bottled water and cookies was a nice plus. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very good.
