Nice Hotel but terrible service
My self and my two adult daughters stayed September 10th for one night. We had two rooms and got to the hotel very early as our transport arrived early, we had a spa treatment booked so were not worried about getting our rooms. The check in process was the best part about our stay. One of our rooms were ready and the other was ready within an hour so we did not have to wait until 3pm. Front desk was very efficient and helpful. Our rooms were lovely, the robes were perfect but our tea cups were dirty. The air conditioning was set to 16C which I thought was very low and I froze the minute I walked into the room. The TV remote did not work and I had to turn off the main plug to turn the TV off. We ordered late night room service which was where the hotel clearly failed for a five star hotel. Firstly the choices on the menu were very limited and nothing fresh available. Mostly pizza, toastie and chips. Some fruit or cheese plate would have been a good addition. We ordered chips and a toastie and it arrived an hour later. the chips were stone cold. There were no condiments, no napkins, no cutlery. We called and asked for warm chips. This time it was it was better as the chips came covered and we got some condiments. Still no napkins or cutlery. We also ordered a bottle of prosecco which came but no ice bucket. We had a glass and could not drink the rest as it was too warm. We had lunch at the Alice restaurant earlier that day, the food was wonderful but the

5* location 5* prices 1* service
Great location in the heart of historic Oxford. Prices reflect the location. Sadly our experience of service was not at the level expected.

Boutique hotel in Oxford
We stayed two nights this week, check-in was quick and the room and bathroom was spacious and pretty after a redesign. The location is excellent, just across from the Ashmolean and the ticket counter for Oxford’s HOHO bus is right outside. Our dinner at The Alice was delicious and drinks at the bar well-priced. I would return, though without a car as £48 a day for guest parking is very high.
