Less than satisfied
The room was good, but a little run down. There was wall paper peeling off the walls in the halls and the surfaces in the bathroom were very worn. On a good note, the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. We did have a problem with the stay. A toiletries bag with medication was left in the room. After a half dozen calls the night we left and the next morning, the staff said they didn’t find anything. We know the bag was left on the counter in the bathroom, so it was either picked up by the cleaning service and not turned into the front deck, or they didn’t clean the room between guests. No other way it could have not been found. Makes for an unfortunate and panicky vacation having to try to get needed medications refilled out of state. Be sure to triple check the rooms before you leave if you stay - the cleaners will keep your stuff.

Slightly disappointed
La Quinta is almost always my hotel choice whenever I’m staying out of town. The location was perfect, definitely not to far from anything. I must say I was extremely disappointed with my check in experience and overall condition of the hotel. I called prior to my arrival to advise I will be checking in later than expected, closer to 10pm, I was placed on hold for 24 minutes. While still on hold, I used my husbands phone to call and was immediately placed on hold. We arrived to the hotel and the lobby area was empty.The checkin clerk popped in from the back and wasn’t friendly at all, kind of like I was annoying him by checking in. We took the elevator up to the room which was shaking the entire time. We arrived to the 6th floor and was greeted by wall paper falling off the walls. The air conditioner whistled the entire time. Overall, I was disappointed with the service and condition and will look for an alternative when staying in Ocala.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable, but there was a little bit of a stale odor (like wet dog or old smoke) when we turned on the A/C. It got better or we just got used to it. Staff was friendly and free breakfast was adequate. Outside of the hotel and pool area could use some updates but the room was fine.
